बचपन से ले कर अब बुढ़ापे तक क्यों है मुझे इस गीत से लगाव?

मेरा जन्म 1958 का और यह फिल्म रिलीज़ हुई थी सन 1964 में 

तेरी आँख के आंसू पी जाऊं-ऐसी मेरी तक़दीर कहां ! यह गीत मुझे बचपन से ही पसंद था। जब भी रेडियो पर यह गीत आता मैं सब काम छोड़ कर इसे सुनता।मेरा जन्म मार्च 1958 का है और यह फिल्म आई थी सन 1964 में। अर्थात मैं उस समय महज़ छह वर्ष की उम्र का था।

गीत अक्सर ही फिल्म रिलीज़ होने से बहुत पहले गूंजने लगते थे सो यह गीत भी बहुत पहले आ गया था। न तो मुझे इसके शब्दों का पूरा पता था और न ही इसके अर्थ मालुम होते थे। फिल्म का भी कुछ पता न था लेकिन इस एक पंक्ति का अर्थ मालूम था कि कोई किसी के आंसू पीने की बात कह रहा है। इस फिल्म ने उन दिनों 11 मिलियन भारतीय रूपये कमाए थे। उस समय में यह बहुत बड़ी रकम थी। उन दिनों मुझे उस कमाई का भी कुछ पता न चला। चल जाता तो शायद मैं भी उसी तरह की कमाई की बात सोचता। पता भी चला तो बस आंसूयों का। मुझे उस उम्र में भी बहुत से आंसू बहाने पड़े थे शायद उन आंसूयों ने ही यह समझ दे दी कि इस गीत के मुखड़े को समझ सकूं। आंसूओं का एक रिश्ता सा बन गया था इस गीत के साथ।
इस गीत के गीतकार रजिंदर कृष्ण दुग्गल गीत में छुपे दर्द के अहसास के कारण अपने अपने से लगने लगे। इसके साथ ही संगीतकार मदनमोहन साहिब के साथ भी एक दिल का रिश्ता स्थापित हुआ। मुझे अफ़सोस रहेगा कि इन दोनों से मैं अब तक नहीं मिल पाया। माला सिन्हा और तलत महमूद साहिब से भी भेंट नहीं हो सकी। निर्देशक थे विनोद कुमार और संगीत दिया था मदन मोहन साहिब ने।  मदन मोहन साहिब का 14 जुलाई 1975 को निधन हो गया और गीतकार रजिंदर कृष्ण 23 सितंबर 1987 को सिर्फ 68 वर्ष की उम्र में चल बसे। इन दोनों से कभी न मिल पाने के सदमे ने मुझे समझाया कि आर्थिक मजबूरियां कितना कुछ छीन लेती हैं। गीतकार जनाब राजेंद्र कृष्ण और इस सदा बहार गीत को आवाज़ देने वाले जनाब तलत महमूद साहिब के संयोजन ने इस गीत को भी अमर कर दिया। भारत भूषण, माला सिन्हा, शशि कला, पृथ्वी राज कपूर, ॐ प्रकाश, सुंदर अरुणा ईरानी, रणधीर, मीनू मुमताज़ और फरीदा जलाल जैसे मंजे हुए कलाकारों ने इस फिल्म में जान फूंक दी थी। उनकी आवाज़ में महसूस होता कंपन एक अजीब सा अहसास कराता है। गीत के शब्दों का दर्द उस कंपन के कारण शायद ज़्यादा महसूस होता है। यह कंपन ही उनकी आवाज़ को विलक्षण बनाता है। 

यहाँ पूरा गीत भी दिया जा रहा है। जब गीत की पहली पंक्ति कानों में पड़ती है या शब्दों में दिखाई देती है तो वह पहली पंक्ति ज़िंदगी की मजबूरियों को बहुत ही सादगी से प्रस्तुत करती है;सामने है। वह पहली पंक्ति कहती है:

तेरा ग़मख़्वार हूँ लेकिन मैं तुझ तक आ नहीं सकता----और दूसरी पंक्ति इसी शिद्द्त को आगे बढ़ाती है--मैं अपने नाम तेरी बेकसी लिखवा नहीं सकता---कितना अजीब सा अहसास है--कितनी सूक्ष्म सी पकड़ है। जब लोग ज़मीन जायदादों को अपने  नाम करवाने के इलावा और कुछ नहीं सोचते और इस मकसद के लिए कत्लोगार्त तक कर डालते हैं उस माहौल में भी कोई किसी की बेकसी अपने नाम लिखवाने की चाह में है। एक बार इस गीत की इस पंक्ति को मैंने अपने वाटसप पर लिख लिया। इसे देख कर एक महिला मित्र ने सवाल किया--किस के आंसू पीना चाहते हो? सवाल सुन कर बहुत अजीब भी लगा पर झट से कह दिया मैडम आपके आंसू? वह बोली सच? मैंने कहा हां  बिलकुल सच। मैं उसके कितने आंसू पी पाया और कितने नहीं यह एक अलग कहानी है। इसकी चर्चा कभी फिर सही। फ़िलहाल आप पढ़िए//देखिये और सुनिए देखिये इस गीत को जो आज भी मुझे से जुड़ा हुआ है।

अपने ज़माने का हिट गीत जो हर गली के हर मोड़ पर दिलों को झंक्झोरता हुआ अपनी तरंगें छोड़ जाता था। ज़िंदगी और प्रेम की नाकामियों से गुज़रते हर नौजवान को यह गीत अपना अपना
सा लगता। हर बुज़ुर्ग अपनी गुज़र चुकी नाकाम ज़िंदगी का दर्द इस गीत के ज़रिये गुनगुनाता।  साहिर साहिब ने तोइसे कई बार जिया था। हर कदम पर इसे महसूस किया था। सं १९६७ में आई इस हिंदी फिल्म बहु बेगम के निर्देशक थे-एम सादिक और संगीत तैयार किया था-रौशन ने। फिल्म के सितारों में थे प्रदीप कुमार, मीना कुमारी और अशोक कुमार। लखनऊ की पृष्टभूमि और माहौल में इस फिल्म की कहानी उस दौर के मज़बूत थीम पर थि. प्रेम कहीं और हो जाना और शादी कहीं और। फिल्म में हर कलाकार ने अपना किरदार बहुत ही जानदार तरीके से निभाया। ज़िंदगी के दोराहे और दुविधा को इस गीत में बहुत ही खूबसूरती से प्रस्तुत किया गया है। अहसास को सादगी भरे शब्दों में महसूस करने वाले जनाब साहिर साहिब ने इस दर्द को हर दिल में उतार दिया था।

पप्पा जल्दी आ जाना- हिंदी फिल्म TAQDEER (1967) का यादगारी गीत

कोकणी फिल्म निर्मोह 1966 में आई थी। निर्मोन का शाब्दिक अर्थ भी किस्मत ही होता है। उसकी लोकप्रियता का अंदाज़ा इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि एक ही वर्ष बाद 1967 में इसका हिंदी रीमेक तैयार हो गया तक़दीर के नाम से। यूं तो तक़दीर के सभी गीत हिट हुए थे लेकिन इस  गीत ने अपना अलग स्थान बनाया। घर की मजबूरियां और रोज़ी रोटी का चक्र कैसे घर के अपनों को अपनों से ही दूर विदेश में भेज देता है इसकी एक झलक इस गीत में खूबसूरती से दर्शायी गयी है। गीत को लिखा था आनंद बख्शी साहिब ने और संगीत था लक्ष्मी कांत प्यारेलाल ने। इस गीत को आवाज़ दी थी लतामंगेश्कर और सुलक्षणा पंडित ने। निर्माता तारा चंद बरजात्या की इस यादगारी फिल्म में भारतभूषण, फ़रीदा जलाल, शालिनी, काजल, कमल कपूर, जानी वाकर, सुभाष घई, सुशील और जलाल आगा भी थे। यह फिल्म 1967 में आई थी और अब 2015 आने को है लेकिन तक़दीर के खेल आज भी जारी हैं। आज भी बहुत से लोग घर परिवार छोड़ कर विदेश में जाते हैं और कभी कभी वे वापिस भी नहीं आते केवल उनकी खबर आती है। इन मजबूरियों से ही निकला था गीत--चिट्ठी आई है आई है चिट्ठी आई है---इसकी चर्चा हम किसी अगली पोस्ट में करेंगे।

Kagaz ke phool 1959 :- कागज़ के फूल; Paper Flowers, is a 1959 classic Hindi film produced and directed by Guru Dutt, who also played the lead role in the film.

The film was a box office disaster of its time but was later resurrected as a world cinema cult classic in the 1980s. The film's music was composed by S. D. Burman and the notable lyrics were written by Kaifi Azmi, giving hits like Waqt ne Kiya Kya Haseen Situm, sung by Geeta Dutt.

In the 2002 Sight & Sound critics' and directors' poll, Kaagaz Ke Phool was ranked at #160 among the greatest films of all time.

Motivated by the success of Pyaasa, Guru Dutt embarked on the creation of yet another of his socially challenging movie, Kaagaz Ke Phool. The theme and tone on this movie were ages ahead of the Indian audience of the 50s who were used to simpler plots and storyline. The underlying tones of the film were complex and story was controversial for the time.

Considered one of Guru Dutt's finest film by many, Kaagaz Ke Phool was a commercial disaster when it was first released. At the film's premiere, Dr Rajendra Prasad, then President of India and invited chief guest, walked out of the cinema hall deeply offended.

Audiences in Delhi's Regal cinema threw stones at the screen during the screening. Reactions like these deeply affected the sensitive and introverted Dutt .Guru Dutt himself admitted in an interview to Filmfare in 1963,

" It was good in patches. It was too slow and it went over the head of audiences."

Many claim that the film is semi-autobiographical of Guru Dutt and that he portrayed his angst in the movie. At the time of production of the film, Guru Dutt's marriage to Geeta Dutt was under strain due to his liking for Waheeda Rehman. This was openly known causing Guru Dutt's personal life to resemble that of the protagonist in the movie. However, the forecast of his own (Guru Dutt's) death, to parallel the sad and imminent death of the protagonist in the film, is debatable.

Another explanation for the inspiration is Guru Dutt's association with Gyan Mukherjee, the famous 1940s director whose Qismet (1941) had made him into a household name. The life and subsequent failures of Mukherjee, whom Guru Dutt had joined in 1950, influenced him deeply. Many think that Kaghaz ke Phool was based on Gyan Mukherjee's life and failures, as Guru Dutt's previous film Pyaasa had been dedicated to him.

About Geeta Dutt :- The legendary nightingale with mesmerizing voice..

Geetā Dutt (Bengali: গীতা দত্ত, born Geetā Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri) [November 23, 1930 July 20, 1972] was a prominent Indian playback singer in Hindi movies in the 1950s and 60s, and also a singer of modern Bengali songs.
Geeta Dutt was born in 1930 into a rich zamindār's family as Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri in Faridpur, (then in Bengal, India; now in Banglādesh). In 1942, her parents shifted to an apartment in Dādar, Bombay (now Mumbai) when she was twelve. There, composer/music director Hanumān Prasād once overheard her singing casually, and, feeling impressed, he offered to impart her training in singing. He launched her in a chorus song in Bhakta Prahlād (1946), where she sang only two lines. But her rendering of those two lines stood out. The following year, she got a major assignment as a playback singer for Do Bhāi, and her renderings in that movie brought Geeta to the forefront as a top playback singer.

During Geeta's recording of songs for the movie Baazi, she met the movie's young and upcoming director, Guru Dutt. Their romance culminated in marriage on May 26, 1953. Geeta went on to sing some of her best songs in his movies while continuing to sing in various other assignments as well.

Geeta and Guru Dutt had three children: Tarun (b. 1954), Arun (b. 1956), and Ninā (b. 1962).

In 1957, Guru Dutt launched a movie, "Gauri",' with Geeta as its singing star. It was to be India's first movie in Cinemascope, but the project was shelved after only a few days of shooting. By then, their marriage was on the rocks, Guru Dutt had got romantically involved with Waheedā Rehmān, and Geeta had taken to drinking. The breakup of their marriage affected Geeta's singing career.

In 1964, Guru Dutt died from a combination of alcohol and an overdose of sleeping pills. (His death was widely perceived as a suicide following two earlier attempts[6].) Geeta then suffered a serious nervous breakdown, and also ran into financial problems. She tried to resume her singing career, cutting discs at Durgā Pujā, and giving stage shows. She also performed in a leading role in a Bengali movie, Bhadu Bharan (1967), and sang admirably for a movie, Anubhav (1971), which turned out to her final performance to the music of Kanu Roy.

Mr. & Mrs.'55 is a 1955 Bollywood film by director Guru Dutt. Guru Dutt stars alongside Madhubala,
supported by Lalita Pawar, Johnny Walker and Jagdeep in this socially critical romantic comedy set in
contemporary Bombay. The films music is by O. P. Nayyar and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Storyline :-
Preetam (Guru Dutt), a struggling cartoonist, meets Anita (Madhubala) at a tennis match, where she is watching her favorite tennis star. Anita, a wealthy and westernized heiress is controlled by her feminist aunt, Sita Devi (Lalita Pawar). Sita is suspicious of men, and cultivates her attitudes in Anita. However, to receive her fortune, her father's will decrees that Anita must marry within one month of turning 21. Sita Devi doesn't agree with this, and tries to set Anita up with a sham marriage which will soon lead to divorce, thereby giving her both freedom and a fortune. Sita hires Preetam to marry Anita, but doesn't know that the pair have already met. Preetam is kept from Anita after their marriage, but he kidnaps her and takes her to the traditional house of his brother.

While at the house, Anita befriends Preetam's sister-in-law, and begins to see the merit in becoming a traditional Indian wife. Preetam is worried that he has lost Anita, and expedites their divorce by providing false, incrimiating evidence to the court. Preetam then leaves Mumbai, heartbroken. Anita now recognizes her feelings for Preetam and rushes to meet him at the airport. In the end, the couple is reunited.

Trivia :- Cartoons in the movie are drawn by famous cartoonist R. K. Laxman.[1] Both of the film's leading stars Guru Dutt and Madhubala died at a relatively young age in the 1960s.
It is surmised that Guru Dutt committed suicide in 1964 at the age of thirty-nine but some believe it was accidental overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol. Madhubala died four years later in 1969 of a heart ailment at the age of 36.
