NASEEHAT NAMA - Epistle of Admonishment, is not Gurbani. It is an apocryphal composition in verse attributed to Guru Nanak and is said to have been addressed by the Guru to king Croesus (Karoon in Sikh chronicles). The King is advised to be pure, have love of God uppermost in your heart and do not hurt the feelings of His creatures and do good deeds when God has bestowed riches upon him. Money spent in a good cause is money well spent. Money belongs to him who spends it. Everything in this world is transient and none should feel proud of his possessions which are bound to perish. True God alone shall abide forever. Karoon could be a very rich man so named after the historical Croesus, king of Lydia, known for his fabulous wealth.

At the age of seven, Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE was encouraged by her grandfather to learn "Naseehat Nama" by heart and recite it every night before going to bed along with the bedtimes prayer "Kirtan Sohila". He used to listen from her every night. This upload is her dedication to her late grandfather "Giani Hari Singh Ji" who spent a lot of time on her, teaching recitation of Shudh Gurbani and Shabad Kirtan. "Naseehat Nama" is scribed in Janam Sakhi and used to be printed in the "Gutkas" in those days.

"Mool Mantra" (long meditation) in Raag Gunkali

Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE sings Mool Mantra fin a meditative style, for half an hour with her group, in Raag Gunkali, a beautiful morning raga. This is a continuous singing of mool mantra for half an hour and can be used for meditation.

Subtitles are provided for listeners to follow the Fundamental Prayer of Sikhs and may be sing along too. The aspirants who cannot read Punjabi can read along in Hindi and can also learn Punjabi with the help of Hindi. Extra diacritical marks (given in the original script for grammer and translation) that are not pronounced in reciting the Bani, are removed from Hindi script to make the reciting pure and easy for the aspirants

Mool Mantra is the foundation of Sikh philosophy; its world view and its experience of Truth. It is the first Shabad (hymn) sung by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first and the founder of the Sikhs some five hundred and fifty years ago.
"Mool" means root and mantra is composed of "Mun" or a collective term for thoughts and emotions, sometimes translated as "Mind" and "Tra" means a technique or method of swimming across. So, Mantra is a tool and technique that is utilized as mental tool for Self-growth towards Self-Realisation.

Mool Mantra is indeed a magic formula that through mindful remembrance (simran), a combination of Naam (Mantra) and Dhyan (Meditation) gives rise to Gyan (intuitive access to wisdom). The Mool Mantra is the very foundation of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's thought and is the Fundamental Prayer of Sikhs.

Satguru Nanak Sahib in Mecca, Madina in 1519.

The Page No. 97 of" Sandys's Travels(1673)" gives a valuable reference.This page relates a story which George Sandys got from Mecca itself.According to the story, A Saint from India proved that God is in all directions and every where.It is "erroneously" said that God or the prophet is born only in Mecca.He( Definitly, Satguru Nanak Sahib, the esteemed Saint( from India, in the dress of Hagee), made it "open to the whole world" that God or their prophet is not only confined to Mecca only.Thanks to George Sandy for digging out this Panthic information, after just 92 years later from 1519.In 1611, Sandy went to Zedda Mecca, Madina for his business and happened to find this statement of Almighty Satguru Nanak Sahib.
Page No. 97 of Sandy`s Travels gives a new light to Satguru`s visit to Macca and Madina.For his business puorpose, George Sandy went to Zedda, Mecca and Madina, and happened to get tis precious information about Almighty Satguru Nanak Sahib. This information was send to me by Mr. Ryan, Librarian of Reference Library, Ontario Museum, Toronto, on March 23, 2010( by courtesy of Sandy`s Travels Containing The Original and The Present State of Turkish Empire, published by Crown in Little Britain,London,1673).
