Farewell Party of KCW, Commerce Department
Radhika and Taranpreet were adjudged Miss Farewell
Ludhiana: 8 March 2014: (Rector Kathuria//Punjab Screen):
An exuberant Farewell was accorded to B.Com and M.com Final Year students of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana. True Spirit of Womanhood was on display in the function as it coincided with the International Women’s Day. The girls of the Commerce Department presented the vivid colors of India through regional dances including Lavani, Gujarati, Bharat Natayam, Sufi Dance and Ganesh Vandana. Modeling Rounds for the out going classes were also conducted. Radhika was adjudged Miss Farewell B.Com. Tanavpreet and Jyoti were declared Ist and IInd Runners Up respectively. Taranpreet was crowned Miss Farewell M.Com. The excitement of leaving college and entereing into a new face of life was visible on the faces of all the students. Principal of the College Dr. (Mrs.) Varinder Kaur Thind applauded the efforts of the students and the teachers and wished the outgoing classes the best in their lives. She also encouraged the students to work hard for the coming final exams and strive for university positions.

ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਾਰਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ
ਆਈਡੀਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਈ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ
ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ: 6 ਮਾਰਚ 2014: (ਰੈਕਟਰ ਕਥੂਰੀਆ//ਕੈਮਰਾ-ਅਮਰਦੀਪ//ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕਰੀਨ): ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਫੇਰ ਅਠ ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਜੋਸ਼ੋ ਖਰੋਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਹੈ। ਜਲਸੇ, ਜਲੂਸ, ਰੈਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਸਭਕੁਝ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਕੁਝ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਰਚ। ਇਸ ਮਾਰਚ ਦੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਕਾਰ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਕਾਨੂੰਨ, ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਾਸਫੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਹਰ ਅਮਨਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਚੋਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੱਲੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਵਿਤਾ ਕਾਲੜਾ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਣ /ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਅੰਸ਼। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਈ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਕਾਰ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਇਓਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ:
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਆਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜ ਮਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਮਨਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ। ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਤੀਬਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਆਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ/ਔਰਤਾਂ/ਬੱਚੀਆਂ ਕਿਨੀਆਂ ਅਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੁੜੀ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ਬੈਠੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਸੂਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਧੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਪੁੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਕਾਫ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਵਿਤਾ ਕਾਲੜਾ ਵੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਹਾਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਚਿੰਤਿਤ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਹੈ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ। ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਠ ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਜਰੂਰ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ। ਸਵਿਤਾ ਕਾਲੜਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਓਹ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਣ।ਸੁਣੋ ਦੇਖੋ ਸਵਿਤਾ ਕਾਲੜਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ:
ਹੁਣ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਉੱਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁ ਹੁੰਗਾਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ? ਕਬੀਲੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਾਰਚ ਠੀਕ 12 ਵਜੇ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਫ਼ਰ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸਿਵਲ ਲਾਈਨਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੌਰਮਿੰਟ ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਕਾਲਜ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਏਗਾ।

ਬੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ
ਬੈਂਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸੁਆਲ-ਆਖਿਰ ਕੌਣ ਵੰਡਦਾ ਹੈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ੇ ?

ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਮਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਸਿਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲੜਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਐਲਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੌੜ ਗਈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੰਗੜੇ ਪਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਸ਼ੀਲੀ ਨਾਅਰੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਲਓ ਦੇਖੋ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼:
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਠੱਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੰਗੜ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਅਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਜਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਓਹ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ।
ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਐਲਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਟਕਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਫੁੱਲ ਸਟਾਪ ਲੱਗ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਖਦਸ਼ਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਸ੍ਰ. ਬੈਂਸ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਬਦਲ ਲੈਣ।
ਸ੍ਰ. ਬੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧੀਰ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੁਨ੍ਦੀਨ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤਾਜ ਤਖਤ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਠਹਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਹੁਣ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਉਭਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ ਸ੍ਰ ਬੈਂਸ ਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ? ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੁਆਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਲੀਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਅਕਾਲੀਦਲ ਵਿਕ੍ਚ ਜਾ ਰਲਣਗੇ ?

जिन्हें नाज़ है हिन्द पर वे कहाँ हैं
वह गीत जिस के साथ शुरू हुआ सत्ता और साहिर का टकराव
बहुत से पुराने लोग बताया करते थे जब जनाब साहिर लुधियानवी ने मंच पर इस गीत को प्रस्तुत किया तो वहाँ उस समय के प्रधानमंत्री पंडित नेहरू भी मौजूद थे। उन्होंने इस गीत की कड़वी हकीकत को खुद पर आघात समझा और साहिर से नाराज़ हो गए। जब यह गीत फ़िल्म प्यासा में शामिल किया गया तो इस की मुख्य पंक्ति स्नखाने-तक़दीसे मशरिक कहाँ है को बदल कर कुछ आसान कर दिया गया----जिन्हें नाज़ है हिन्द पर वे कहाँ हैं---आज भी इस गीत का सच अंतर्मन को हिला देता है---और सवाल उठने लगता है हम किस भारत को महान कहे जा रहे हैं---अगर महानता के इस दावे में आज़ादी के इतने बरसों के बाद भी वह सब शामिल है जो इस गीत में है तो मुझे इस महानता की बात कहते हुए शर्म आती है---!

First time saw this movie on Doordarshan tv in 1977 and same day theives tried to break in our house. How can I forget these two things in my life. Introduction of Guru Dutt to my filmi knowledge was very new and surpiring to me. And this masterpiece took top spot on my best movies chart.

Kagaz ke phool 1959 :- कागज़ के फूल; Paper Flowers, is a 1959 classic Hindi film produced and directed by Guru Dutt, who also played the lead role in the film.
The film was a box office disaster of its time but was later resurrected as a world cinema cult classic in the 1980s. The film's music was composed by S. D. Burman and the notable lyrics were written by Kaifi Azmi, giving hits like Waqt ne Kiya Kya Haseen Situm, sung by Geeta Dutt.
In the 2002 Sight & Sound critics' and directors' poll, Kaagaz Ke Phool was ranked at #160 among the greatest films of all time.
Motivated by the success of Pyaasa, Guru Dutt embarked on the creation of yet another of his socially challenging movie, Kaagaz Ke Phool. The theme and tone on this movie were ages ahead of the Indian audience of the 50s who were used to simpler plots and storyline. The underlying tones of the film were complex and story was controversial for the time.

Audiences in Delhi's Regal cinema threw stones at the screen during the screening. Reactions like these deeply affected the sensitive and introverted Dutt .Guru Dutt himself admitted in an interview to Filmfare in 1963,
" It was good in patches. It was too slow and it went over the head of audiences."
Many claim that the film is semi-autobiographical of Guru Dutt and that he portrayed his angst in the movie. At the time of production of the film, Guru Dutt's marriage to Geeta Dutt was under strain due to his liking for Waheeda Rehman. This was openly known causing Guru Dutt's personal life to resemble that of the protagonist in the movie. However, the forecast of his own (Guru Dutt's) death, to parallel the sad and imminent death of the protagonist in the film, is debatable.
Another explanation for the inspiration is Guru Dutt's association with Gyan Mukherjee, the famous 1940s director whose Qismet (1941) had made him into a household name. The life and subsequent failures of Mukherjee, whom Guru Dutt had joined in 1950, influenced him deeply. Many think that Kaghaz ke Phool was based on Gyan Mukherjee's life and failures, as Guru Dutt's previous film Pyaasa had been dedicated to him.

The film was a box office disaster of its time but was later resurrected as a world cinema cult classic in the 1980s. The film's music was composed by S. D. Burman and the notable lyrics were written by Kaifi Azmi, giving hits like Waqt ne Kiya Kya Haseen Situm, sung by Geeta Dutt.

Motivated by the success of Pyaasa, Guru Dutt embarked on the creation of yet another of his socially challenging movie, Kaagaz Ke Phool.
